Config file is enough simple to understand. I will explain only some keywords:
USE_DHCP=yes/no
Set to "yes": the client try to get network configuration via DHCP, if you set this parameter to "no" the network client will use the variables of "Static IP" group;
in this case the variable:
DHCPSID=192.168.0.123
(usually provided by DHCP) will be used as IP of remote desktop server (Linux X-server or Windows terminal server) if you set:
XSERVER=auto or RDP_SERVER=auto
Note: XSERVER variable has priority over RDP_SERVER variable (leave blank XSERVER= if you set RDP_SERVER)
This is the default Config contained in /custom folder:
RemiX 4.0 default recovery Config (default)
Define custom network configuration
USE_DHCP=yes
Static IP values (Note: use of DHCP must be set to "no")
IPADDR=192.168.0.222 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.0.200 HOSTNAME='REMIX' DHCPSID=192.168.0.123 DNS=213.205.32.70
set your keyboard layout (en=default)
LAYOUT=en
Set IP of remote Xorg server (Note: "auto" = set from DHCP using DHCPSID field) Note2: XSERVER_2ND may be set to an alternative recovery/emergency X-server
XSERVER=auto XSERVER_2ND=
Set IP of Windows Server (Note: "auto" = set from DHCP using DHCPSID field) Note2: RDP_SERVER_2ND may be set to an alternative recovery/emergency Windows server
RDP_SERVER=auto RDP_COMMAND="-k it -u tux -f -z -r sound -r disk:share=/mnt" RDP_SERVER_2ND= RDP_COMMAND_2ND="-k it -u tux -f -z" #RD options: -4=RDP4 -5=RDP5 -u username -p password -g WxH -f=fullscreen -E=encription #-k keyboardlayout -c workingdirectory -z=compression -n clienthostname -d domain -L codepage #-r disk:sharename=/tmp -r sound -z (for local disks in \\tsclient\sharename, sound, network compression)
Power off at logout: set to "yes" if you want that Windows client go power-off at user logout
RDP_PWOFF_LOGOUT=no
Enable a dialog box to manage local resources (disks, mixer audio, etc)
LOCAL_MANAGER=no
Allow user to connect an arbitrary (user defined) server if set to "yes" user (in client user menu dialog can try a X-server connection to any IP
ALLOW_ANY_CONNECTION=
Enable Sound System
AUDIO=yes
Try to load audio modules (PCI only) this parameter is used only in RemiX vith kernel modules inside (not works now, with new kernel)
AUTODETECT_AUDIO=no
Try to load old ISA card audio modules this parameter is used only in RemiX vith kernel modules inside (not works now, with new kernel)
AUTODETECT__OLD_AUDIO=no
List of kernel modules to load at boot time (ex: snd-via82xx:snd-pcm-oss:snd-seq-oss:snd-mixer-oss)
MODULES=
Mount shared "/usr" via nfs server (default /diskless/NFS-DISK)
NFS_DISK=yes
Use a swapfile over nfs server (default /diskless/SWAP/IP_of_Client)
NFS_SWAP=no
Autoconfigure and Automount Hard Disk and CD/DVD devices
AUTOMOUNT_HD_CD=no
Automount USB disk
AUTOMOUNT_USB=yes

FTP_SUPPORT=no
Enable OpenMosiX kernel support (Note: obsolete parameter, not implemented now)
OPENMOSIX=no
X_ACCEL_DISABLED=yes
Select custom color depth
X_COLOR_DEPTH=16
Select custom screen mode

Select a monitor (low, medium or high)
MONITOR=auto
Define a server font (choose "BootServer" = tcp/IP_of_Boot_Server:7100)
XFS_SERVER=
